Introducing Superloop to Melbourn

We held the first consultation on the Superloop this month and more than 130 people attended the event to find out more about it! The first 200 Melbourn households who completed the online engagement form received a £20 Love Cambridge gift card.

We held two public engagement events at Melbourn Primary School from 3pm to 7pm on Friday, November 29 and from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, November 30. Project experts were on hand to talk to people about the idea and how it would work, and register interest in the project. It was fantastic to see so many people as excited as we are. We continue to look for a suitable site for the data centre.

James Standley, chief technology officer at DataGlow, said: “We’re excited about this innovative Melbourn Energy Superloop and how it can benefit the community. We will keep people up to date with the progress on site-finding and the network development.”
